Sons of Brahma: The number of sons of Brahma is not fixed in the Puranas. The names of three wives of Brahma are found. Savitri, Gayatri and Saraswati. Then Lord Shiva was pleased and granted him Mangal Lok.

It is believed that the first wife of Lord Shiva was Sati, second was Parvati, third was Kali and fourth was Umadevi. Sati was burnt in the yajna. Kartikeya was born from Mother Parvati. Lord Ganesha was created by Parvati. He adopted a newborn named Sukesh. Sukesh married a Gandharva girl, Devvati. Sukesh had 3 sons from Devvati - 1. Malyavan, 2. Sumali and 3. Mali. Due to these three, the demon race got expansion and fame. Shiva's fourth son was Jalandhara. Jalandhar was also a part of Shiva.

Swayambhuva Manu: - 14 Manu of 14 Manvantaras are said. So far there have been 7 Manus and 7 are yet to happen. The first is called Svayambhuva Manu, the second Swarochisha, the third Uttam, the fourth Tamas, the fifth Raivat, the sixth Chakshush and the seventh Vaivasvata Manu. Vaivasvata Manu is the Manu of the present Kalpa. After this there will be Manu by the name of Savarni, Daksha Savarni, Brahma Savarni, Dharma Savarni, Rudra Savarni, Rauchya or Deva Savarni and Bhaut or Indra Savarni.

Manu Swayambhuva Manu of the first Manvantara is called the first human. Mankind has originated on the banks of Devika river, a branch of river Vitasta near Saptacharutirtha. His wife's name was Shatrupa. Swayambhuva Manu and Shatarupa had a total of five children, out of which two sons were Priyavrata and Uttanapada and three daughters were Akuti, Devahuti and Prasuti. Swarochisha Manu :- In the second Swarochisha Manvantara these seven saptarshis were Prana, Brihaspati, Dattatreya, Atri, Chyavana, Vayuprokta and Mahavrata. In this period there were deities named Tushit and Havirghna, Sukriti, Jyoti, Aap, Murti, Pratata, Nabhasya, Nabha and Urja—these are said to be the sons of Mahatma Swarochisha Manu, who was a great mighty and mighty worker.

Uttam or Auttami Manu :- The seven sons of Vasistha and the stunning sons of Hiranyagarbha, Urja, Tanurja Madhu, Madhava, Shuchi, Shukra, Saha, Nabhasya and Nabha – all these were the mighty sons of Uttam Manu. In this Manvantara there was a deity named Bhanu.

Tamas Manu: - Kavya, Prithu, Agni, Jahnu, Dhata Kapvaan and Akpivan - these seven were the Saptarshis of that period. In this period there were deities with the name Satya. Dyuti, Tapasya, Sutapa, Tapobhuta, Sanatana, Taporati, Akalmas, Tanvi, Dhanvi and Parantap – these ten Tamas are said to be the sons of Manu.

Raivata Manu:- Devbahu, Yadughra, Vedashira, Hiranyaroma, Parjanya, Somanandan, Ugharvabahu and Atrikumar Satyanetra- these were the Saptarishis. There were gods named Abhutarja and Prakriti. Dhritiman, Avyaya, Yukta, Tatvadarshi, Nirutsuk, Aranya, Prakash, Nirmoha, Satyavak, and Kriti—these were the sons of Raivata Manu.

Chakshuk Manu :- Bhrigu, Nabha, Vivasvan, Sudhama, Virja, Atinama and Tolerance- these were the Saptarshis. There were five deities named Lekh. The ten sons of Ruru Adi Chakshush Manu, famous by the name Nadvaleya, are said to be.

Vaivasvata Manu :- Atri, Vashishta, Kashyapa, Gautam, Bharadvaja, Vishwamitra and Jamadagni- these are the seven sages of this present Manvantara, in whose name there is currently a Saptarishi constellation. Sadhya, Rudra, Vishvedev, Vasu, Marudgan, Aditya and Ashwanikumar – these are considered to be the deities of this Manvantara. Vaivasvata Manu had ten sons, Ikshvaku etc.

Sons of Indradev (Purandara):- Jayanta, Vasukta, Vrisha, Vanararaj Bali, Kunti's son Arju etc. were the sons of Indra. In each Manvantara there is an Indra whose names are as follows- Yajna, Vipaschit, Shibi, Vidhu, Manojava, Purandar, Bali, Amazing, Shanti, Vish, Ritudham, Devaspati and Suchi. The Indra we are talking about is Devraj Purandar, the son of Aditi and the husband of Shachi.

These Indras are also called Suresh, Surendra, Devendra, Devesh, Shachipati, Vasava, Surpati, Shakra, Purandar. Indra was married to Shachi, the daughter of Asuraraj Puloma. After becoming the wife of Indra, she came to be called Indrani. The names of the sons of Indrani are also found in the Vedas. Two of them were sages Vasukta and Vrisha who composed the Vedic hymns. Jayant was his eldest son. The monkey king Bali and Kunti's son Arjun were also born from their contact.

Agnidev (the carrier): - The fire of the whole world lives under the fire of Agni. Daksha's daughter Swaha was married to Agnidev. According to the Puranas, Agnidev's wife Swaha had three sons named Pavak, Pavaman and Shuchi. The number of his sons and grandsons is ninety-nine. The origin story of his one son Suvarna and daughter Suvarna is strange which is found in the Puranas. Angiras requested Agnidev to declare him as his first son. From Angira and Angiras to Brihaspati, other sages have been associated with Agni.

Vivasvan (Sun):- The sons of Surya were Vaivasvata Manu, Shani, Yama, Kalindi, Kunti's son Karna etc. Suryavansh started from Vivasvan. Vivasvan, the first son of Aditi, was also called Suryadev (not the direct Sun). Kashyap was born to Marichi, the son of Brahma. Vivasvan from Kashyapa and Vivasvan's son was Vaivastha Manu. Vishwakarma's daughter became the wife of Sangya Vivasvan. Surya produced three children from her womb. They had one daughter and two sons. First of all, Prajapati Shraddhadeva, who is called Vaivasvata Manu, was born. After that Yama and Yamuna - these twins were born. Yamuna was called Kalindi.

 Seeing the splendid form of Lord Surya, Sangya could not bear it. He revealed his own shadow with the same color as his own. She came to be known as Chhaya Swarna. Considering that as a noun too, Surya produced a brilliant son like himself from his womb. He was like his elder brother Manu. Hence Savarna became famous as Manu. The second son who was born from Chhaya-Sanya, became famous by the name of Shanaishchar. Yama was elevated to the position of Dharmaraja and satisfied all the subjects with Dharma. Savarna Manu became Prajapati. He will be the master of the coming savarnik manvantara. Even today, he does penance daily on the summit of Merugiri.

Pawandev :- Vayudev is the son of Brahma. Hanuman and Bhima are considered to be the sons of Pawan. They have a daughter named Ila. Ila was married to Dhruv. Vayu is also called the wind god. According to the Bhagavata Purana, Varuna and Mitra are said to be the ninth and tenth children of Aditi respectively. Varundev is also famous for reconciling the gods and the demons. The progeny of both of these have also been said to have resulted from ayoni maturana i.e. abnormal sex.

For example, sage Valmiki was born in the form of semen on Varun's termite Bambi (Valmik). When the semen of Mitra and Varuna fell into a pot in the presence of Apsara Urvashi, then the sages Agastya and Vashistha were born. The children of a friend were Utsarg, Arishta and Pippal, who ruled over the cow dung, the plum tree and the banyan tree. Varun Devata is known as 'Ahurmajd' in Iran and 'Uranus' in Greece. Chitragupta :- The scribe of Yamraj is 'Chitragupta'. He also has a number of sons. Handles the accounting office of the world. All the people of Kayastra Sampraya are the descendants of Chitragupta.

Kuber :- Kuber is the lord of wealth and the treasurer of the gods. Kubera was the half-brother of Ravana. He had two sons, Nalakubar and Manigriva. Both these sons of Kubera became proud and arrogant in the pleasure of their father's wealth. One day he ridiculed the devarshi Narada. Then Narada cursed both of them, 'Go, go to the world of death and become a tree.' At the same time, both of them stood in the form of trees in the form of trees at the gate of Nanda Baba in Gokul. Aryama or Aryaman: - He is one of the 12 Adityas and is the lord of souls who have left the body, that is, the God of the ancestors. Another Aryama was also the son of Atri. Aryama, the third son of Aditi, is counted among the Adityas. He had many sons.

Shri Ganesh:- Shivaputra Ganeshji has been appointed as the overlord of the gods. The name of Ganeshji's sister is Ashok Sundari. Vighnanashak has two wives named Riddhi and Siddhi. Siddhi had two sons named 'Kshem' and Riddhi had two sons named 'Labh'. In folk tradition, they are called auspicious and benefic. It is said that Kartikeya, brother of Shivaputra Ganesha did not marry.

Devrishi Narada: - The world's first journalist and postman Devrishi Narada was the first Gandharva. Narada is the sage of the gods and Chiranjeevi. Naradji had many wives. His wife's name and sons' name. Devarshi Narada is the guru of Vyasa, Valmiki and the great scholar Shukdev etc.

Sri Hanuman:- Ramdoot Hanuman, the most powerful of the gods, is still in the body and has the boon of being a Chiranjeevi. He is the son of Pawandev. His wife's name is Suvarchala and son's name is Makardhwaj. Makardhwaj was named Makardhwaja because of its origin from a Capricorn or a fish. Hanumanji was a celibate. Suvarchala was definitely his wife, but according to the condition of receiving education from Lord Surya, he married nominally.

Kashyap's sons Aditi :- The sage Kashyap's wives were Aditi, Diti, Danu, Kastha, Arishta, Sursa, Ila, Muni, Krodhavasha, Tamra, Surabhi, Surasa, Timi, Vinata, Kadru, Patangi and Yamini etc. From Aditi the Devas and from Diti the Daityas and from Danu the Demons, from Kradu the Nag, from Arishta the Gandharva, from Sursa the demon Yatudhan.

1. Aditi :- According to the Puranas, Kashyap gave birth to twelve Adityas from the womb of his wife Aditi. He is also called a deity named Tushit. These Adityas were called Devas who were as follows- Vivasvan (Sun), Aryama, Pusha, Tvashta, Savita, Bhaga, Dhata, Vidhata, Varuna, Mitra, Indra and Trivikrama (Lord Vamana). Manu was born to Viswan, the son of sage Kashyap. King Manu was blessed with ten great sons named Ikshvaku, Nriga, Dhrishta, Sharyati, Narishyanta, Pranshu, Nabhaga, Dishta, Karush and Prsadhra. Shri Ram was born in the Ikshvaku clan. Vivasvan (Surya) had other sons, including a Karna in the Mahabharata period. Indra had other sons, including Arjuna of the Mahabharata period.

2. Diti: - Rishi Kashyap gave birth to two sons named Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha and a daughter named Simhika from the womb of Diti. According to Shrimad Bhagavat, besides these three children, 49 other sons of Kashyap were also born from Diti's womb, which were called Marudgan. In the Vedas, the Marudgans have been written as the sons of Rudra and Vrishni and their number is considered to be thrice the number of 60, not 49; But in the Puranas, he is written as the son of Kashyapa and Diti. In the Puranas, he is considered as the Dikpal of Vayukon. These sons of Kashyap remained childless., Whereas Hiranyakashipu had four sons – Anuhallada, Hallada, Bhakta Prahlad and Sanhallad. From these the lineage of the demons proceeded.

3. Danu: - Sage Kashyap got Dwimurdha, Shamber, Arishta, Hayagriva, Vibhavasu, Arun, Anutapan, Dhumrakesh, Virupaksha, Durjaya, Ayomukh, Shanksira, Kapil, Shankar, Ekachakra, Mahabahu, Taraka, Mahabal, from the womb of his wife Danu. Swarbhanu, Vrishaparva, Mahabali Pulom and Viprachiti etc. got 61 great sons.

4. Other wives of sage Kashyap: - Horses etc., a hoofed animal were born from Queen Kashyap. Gandharva was born to his wife Arishta. Yatudhan (demons) were born from a queen named Surasa. Trees, creepers, etc. were born from Ila, the plants that grow on the earth. Apsaras were born from the womb of the sage. Kashyap's queen named Krodhavasha created poisonous animals like snakes, scorpions etc.

Tamra gave birth to hawks, vultures etc. birds of prey as her children. Surbhi created buffalo, cow and two hoofed animals. Queen Sarsa created predatory creatures like tigers. Timi produced aquatic animals as his offspring.

Garuda (Vishnu's vehicle) and Varuna (Sun's charioteer) were born from the womb of Queen Vinata. Many serpents were born from Kadru's womb, among which the main eight were Ananta (Sesha), Vasuki, Takshaka, Karkotaka, Padma, Mahapadma, Shankha and Kulika.

Birds were born from the queen moth. Shalabhs (Kites) were born from Yamini's womb. Prajapati Kashyap also married the two daughters of Vaishvanar, Puloma and Kalka, on the orders of Brahma. Sixty thousand Ranvir demons were born from them named Paulom and Kalkeya, which later became known as Nivatakavacha.

It is believed that the ancient name of Kashmir was after the name of Rishi Kashyap. The whole of Kashmir was ruled by Rishi Kashyap and his sons. The history of Rishi Kashyap is considered ancient.
