शेक्सपियर की कहानी इंग्लिश टू हिंदी अनुवाद  

Long  ago , there lived in Venice , a town in Itlay, a man called Antonio.

बहुत समय पहले की बात है,  इटली के एक शहर वेनिस में  एंटीनियो नाम का एक व्यक्ति रहता था.

He was a merchant , owning many ships which traded  with distant countries; and he was a  good man as well as a rich one. 

कई जहाजों का मालिक था जो व्यपार करने दूर देशों में जाया करता था. वो जितना ही अच्छा इंसान था उतना ही वो एक धनि व्यक्ति भी था.

Antoniyo's greatest friend was  a young soldier,Bassaniyo, who loved a beautiful lady called Portia.

एंटीनियो का एक ख़ास दोस्त बासनियो, एक जवान सैनिक था जो एक बहुत ही सुन्दर सी लड़की से प्यार करता था जिसका नाम पोर्टिया था.

But Bassanio was no wealthy man and he  did not like to ask Portia to marry him, because she was rich as she was beautiful. 

लेकिन बास्नियो कोई अमीर व्यक्ति नहीं था. इसलिए वो अपनी प्रेमिका से  कभी बोल नहीं पाया कि वो उससे शादी करना चाहता है .क्यूंकि वो लड़की सुन्दर के साथ साथ बहुत अधिक धनि भी थी.

At last, however, he asked Antonio to lend him some money, so that  he could visit Portia at Belmont, where she lived, and at least find out if she loved him. 

अंतत: किसी तरह  उसने  एंटीयो से कुछ पैसे उधार मांगे ताकि वो बेलमोन्ट शहर जाकर अपने प्रेमिका  पोर्टिया से मिल सके और ये पता कर सके कि क्या वो उससे प्यार करती है.

It happened that at this time all Antonio's ships were at sea, and until they returned he had no money to  lend Bassanio. 

ये उस समय हुआ जब एंटीनियो के सारे  जगह समुद्र  थे  और जब तक  जहाज़ वापस नहीं आ जाते तब तक वो अपने दोस्त बासनियों को उधार पैसे दे भी नहीं सकता था.

'But go to money- lender', he said to his friend. 'Borrow the money  you need from him , and tell him that, when my ships come in, i will pay him back all that he has lent you. 

" लेकिन तुम पैसे उधार देने वाले के पास चले जाओ" उसने अपने दोस्त से कहा." जो पैसे उधार चाहिए उससे मांग लो, और उससे कहना जब मेरे जहाज़ आ जाए तो मैं उसके सारे उधार चुकता कर दूंगा.

Now, there lived  in Venice  an old Jew  named  Shylock . The Jews in those days were the money lenders of Venice 

वेनिस में ही एक यहूदी शायलोक  रहता था. उन दिनों वेनिस में रहने वाले यही यहूदी सूदखोर थे जो पैसे उधार दिया करते थे. 

They lent money , but they forced people to pay so heavily for the loan that the Jews became rich.

वे पैसे उधार तो देते थे लेकिन उन पैसो की उगाही वो मनमाने तरीके से और जबरजस्ती किया करते थे. इसी धंधा ने यहूदियों को अमीर बना दिया था.

Shylock was  one of the greediest Jews in Venice.

शायलोक वैसा ही एक अत्यंत ही लोभी किस्म सूदखोर यहूदी था

Antonio hated him for his wicked ways, and he had often insulted the Jew and spoken rudely to him. For this reason, Shylock hated Antonio , too and was  anxious to  revenge the insults.

अंटोनीयो उसके इसी दुष्टता के अवगुण के कारण नफरत करता था, और उसने कई बार तो यहूदियों  को बेईज्ज़त करके उन्हें सबक भी सिखा चुका था. यही कारण था  शायलोक भी एंटीनियो से इतना नफरत करता था कि वो हमेशा बदला लेने की लिए आतुर रहता था.

Bassanio , knowing Shylock was very rich, went to borrow the money he needed

ये जानते हुए कि शायलोक बहुत अमीर है, बासनियों उससे पैसे उधार मागने चला गया जितने कि उसे ज़रुरत थी.

Shylock was delighted  when  he heard  that Antonio had promise to pay back the  loan. 

शायलोक तो ये जानकार ख़ुशी से फूला नहीं समाया जब उसे ये पता चला कि इस उधार को उसका दुश्मन एंटीनियो चुकाने वाला है.
