            Rupanzel's Golden Hair

6+ Kid's English Story Rupanzel's golden hair story.

अंग्रेजी में बच्चों की कहानियां.

Once upon a time, there lived a couple in a small house. They were  very poor and could not afford the luxuries of life. The wife was expecting a baby. There was a large garden by the side of their house. This garden belongs to a wicked witch. The tress in the garden were laden with exquisite fruits.

The wife used to look at the fruits longingly from a window and used to wonder. “How tasty those fruits appear?  If only I could eat some.” With each passing day,she started becoming thinner and thinner. She was unhappy because she could not eat such good fruits even though she could see them every day.

“What is the matter, dear?” asked her husband one day “ why are you looking so sad?”  “Dear, Husband” she said “There are so many delicious fruits in the garden next to our house. I want to eat those fruits, I want to eat those fruits, If  only I could get some fruits, I will be very happy!".

The husband promised his wife to get her some fruits. He waited till the evening, then he crept into the garden, collected some fruits, and hurried back to his house. “Here, my lovely wife. Eat these fruits and smile like you do always!” he said.

“Thank you, dear!” she said. She was indeed very happy to eat those fruits as they were more tasty than she had imagined. After a couple of days, she again felt the urge to eat some fruits. She told her Husband to bring some fruits from the nearby garden.

In the evening, the husband once again entered the garden and started the collecting the fruits suddenly, he heard somebody shout “Who are you, O wretched fellow, and why do you steal from garden?” He turned towards the voice. There stood the wicked witch. She was fearsome and her eyes shined in the moonlight.

“How dare you steal the fruits from my garden in this manner?” She thundered once again “I will put you to death this very instant for this crime!” “leave me please, I am not a thief, rather I am your  neighbor. My wife is expecting a baby . She had desired to eat some fruits from your garden.”  He said.

“I wanted to fulfil her wish, so I came here to pluck some fruits!” The witch stared at him for a long moment and then said“ you can take as much  fruit as much want, but the child born to your wife will be mine. I will raise it like it like my own. Promise me or I will put you to death now!”

“I promise, I promise” said the husband without thinking  “spare my life, and I will do as you say!” The witched allowed him to take the fruits to his wife. Time passed and after sometime, a cute little daughter was born. Both the husband and wife were very happy to be blessed with such a nice child. But, after a few days, the witch came to their house and demanded the baby.

Even though the parents were unwilling to part with the baby, they could do nothing to stop the witch. She took the baby away. The  witch started bringing up the child as her own. The baby grew into a very beautiful maiden. The witched named her Rupunzel. She had very long hair, which shone in the sun like gold strings.

As she was very beautiful , many young princes started eying her. The old witch was also aware of their intentions. So, one day , she took Rapunzel and placed her in a room on the top of a tower. She then broke the ladder so that nobody could climb the tower, as there were no stairs .

Daily she would bring food to Rapunzel . on  reaching the tower, she would call “ Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!” Rapunzel would lower her long hair. Then holding her hair, the witch would climb up, talk to Rapunzel and feed her, and then come down in the same manner.

Many days passed. One day, a young handsome prince was passing by. He heard a sweet voice. It was Rapunzel, who was singing on the top of the tower. The prince was enchanted by her singing. He started coming daily to the tower to hear her sweet voice. On one such visit, he saw the witch climbing the tower holding Rapunzel’s hair. He waited till the witch left, then he went near the tower and called:

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let don your hair” Rapunzel lowered her hair and prince climbed up. The moment he saw her, he fell in love. “You are the most lovely maiden I have seen in my life, and I wish to take you as my wife! Will you take me for your husband?” he asked with a charming smile.

Rapunzel felt shy. She lowered her eyes. She had also fallen in love with the handsome prince. She agreed to be his wife. The prince started visiting her frequently. But their love could not be hidden from the witch, who by her magical powers learnt about the prince. She was infuriated.

She went to the tower and in a fit of rage, she cut off Rapunzel’s long hair and screamed “How dare you deceive me, you ungrateful girl! How dare you trick me in this manner? Let the prince come today and I will turn him into a toad.”

Rupunzel’s heart  trembled. She cried and said “please don’t harm my prince because I love him very much. “Shut up”! Screamed the witch. She then tied Rupunzel’s hands and legs and placed a rag in her mouth, so that she could not make a sound. The witch then tied the hair to the window pane and waited.

After some time, the prince came and called up: “Rupaunzel, Sweet Rupunzel, let down your hair!” The witch lowered Rapunzel’s hair. The prince climbed up. On reaching the top, he was surprised to see the witch.  “Aha, you wretched fellow! So you are the one who is poisoning my Rapunzel’s mind!” the witch cried loudly “I will kill you now!”

but the prince was a brave guy. He took out his sword and said “Listen, O wicked one, your spells will not have an effect on me, for I am brave! Only people with weak hearts are affected by your spell! I am not a weak fellow. I will cut your head off! Let us see how you can cast your spells then!

He advanced towards the witch. She was afraid of the price and shinning sword in his hand. To escape from the prince, she jumped from the window. As the tower was very tall, the witch fell to the ground and died. The prince untied Rapunzel and they climbed down the tower.

He took Rapunzel on his horse and they rode away, to the magnificent palace of the prince. On reaching the place, the couple were greed by the king and the queen. Rapunzel was liked by all. The king announced their marriage there and then. A grand marriage was followed by a great banquet.

All the guests wished a happy life to the newly wed.  the prince and Rapunzel were happy to be with each other for an entire life time, without fearing about the evil witch, who now lay dead near the tower.
